Day 22

Hmm, someone who has hurt me? Jeez....honestly the possibilities are endless, but it has been on the up and up lately. Heres a general one after my recent change of heart.
Dear Republican Party,
You used to be all about the constitution, freedom and small government. Remember those guys...their names among them; John Adams, Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln? They weren't politicians in the sense of the word today...they worked for the people...for reals. They didn't want religion to have anything to do with our government and now their party seems to have been taken over by the religious right. They also wanted limited government....like not making tons of ridiculous rules and that notorious red tape. Basically they didn't want something like what they had just left in England. So yeah, I am kinda hurt. And the old school leaders also didn't pad their pockets with lifetime benefits or McMansions either.
And that's my two cents.

Day 21

Something that makes me happy....there's a lot, but what to pick first?
How about this...Chip and Me in Walt Disney World...there's a combo! The troll in the Norway pavilion also makes me happy when I see him....you rub his nose for good luck :)

Way behind...starting again with #20

Day 20, the story behind my name...Buzz....
No matter how obvious, my maiden name is Labuz....which became Buzz somewhere in high school...and it stuck. End story. :)

Day 18

Today is the official Day 18 - something I crave. Usually that's Pepsi, although I know it's not good for me and I am trying to quit it....ugh. I also crave popcorn and chocolate, sometimes together. yum.

Missed Day 17

Today was 'busy skyping with nephew day' so I missed my post. Here is my pic of the family with me at Lake Placid, about 17 years ago for the Empire State Games....freezing right along with me :)

Day 16.....

My celebrity crush(es)

Well, the current #1 spot is held by....Dr. Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds!
But there will always be a special spot for Harrison Ford....who can go wrong with a guy who is a combo space pilot and archaeologist!

Day 15

Something I don't leave the house without....well right now I never leave without my Celtic dog necklace somewhere on my person (if it doesn't go with the outfit, it's in a pocket or somewhere). I also never leave without my iPhone....hmmm anything else not as obvious? probably something Disney related...gotta carry some magic with me at all times.

Friday, December 17, 2010

Sorry, screwed that one up...on to the real 14

Actually, it's day 14 for me.....and it says to talk about a tv show I am addicted to....hah! Well currently I can't get enough of Criminal Minds....whether it be the wisecracking comments of Penelope, or the quirky Spencer, I just can't get enough of the show. I know, its weird to laugh during a show about crime, but it has it's moments.

My favorite musician...really?

Wow, what a question...and how to decide?????? Argh! Well I shall separate into categories, I suppose...
~Favorite of All Time: The Moody Blues
~Favorite Alternative: Def FX
~Favorite Lately: Tilly and The Wall
~Favorite Classic Rock: Aerosmith
~ Favorite Oldies: Connie Francis
~Favorite Collective: Disney Parks Music
~Favorite Spiritual: Wai Lana
~Favorite "You wouldn't expect this from me": Arrested Development
~Favorite Pop..ish: tATu

I think thats about it....but take a look at my collection and see how difficult this was!

I tried to do this yesterday...

Here is the best pic I have of my town.....when Chip and I bought the house! Not too much to see in this pic, but I really don't have the ambition to walk to the village in a snowstorm....

Day 11, my makeup bag...annotated

What's in my makeup bag? Oh tons, since I am a faithful Sephora shopper (props to Scarlett!) Right now I will just list my basics, because the blog post would be infinite if I posted everything.
1. Fresh Sugar Rose lip treatment....xoxo
2. Urban Decay Earth Friendly palette
3. Nars blush in Super Orgasm
4. Too Faced eyeshadow primer
5. Sephora face primer
6. Body Shop pressed powder
7. Avon Perfect Wear liquid makeup
8. Aveeno sunscreen and moisturizer lotion
9. Laila perfume...cuz it's the best!
Thats the usual stuff for now - believe me, I have bags full of more product in the bathroom.

Day 10..already!

So...this is kind of a toughie. Read post about the perfect date and how many places that I love eating at Walt Disney World. But if I had to pick one that is my all-time favorite....well, it would have to probably be Casey's Corner....but since I don't have a pic of that to upload, I will pick another with the best lounge singer anywhere - Sonny Eclipse. He performs daily at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. :)

Day 9

What did I just purchase? Lots. It's the holiday season, and I can't pass up buying a couple things for myself - especially with the sale prices and free shipping deals. The last thing of awesomeness that I bought was the Monstrosity Collection (scrapbooking). It's freakin adorable and just cool. I had bought a couple single pages and decided it was a must -have for all of the collection.

Day 8 way early

Since it's technically Day 8, I am supposed to post a song to match my mood. Oh the possibilities. I'm in a good mood....and feeling kinda goofy too. So I think the best match right now would be Alligator Skin by Tilly and the Wall. Maybe I will change my mind a few times tomorrow....probably. Right now it's some good ol' Tilly.

Day 7

My dream wedding? Oh I think that happened a little over a year ago. Would I change anything? Not too much (better DJ, but the food was pretty outstanding and I got to eat it, too.) If I had to make it any better, well, maybe a teensy-weensy bit cooler out so my poor groom and guests wouldn't be so hot in an outdoor, non air conditioned ceremony. And honestly, I would have loved not working two jobs the year previous so I could have done a lot more planning and having fun. Other than those two little details, there isn't much I would change. The best part about my wedding is still sitting right here in the living room with me. No, not the nice framed picture my sis gave me or the gift from my matron of honor. My groom. :)

Friday, December 10, 2010

Day 6

I have wanted one of these since I was a kid. So if I had it my way, I would have a Triceratops as a pet. They are herbivores, so no one could really have an issue with it...heck, I would be a celebrity. And I would not be like Jurassic Park people and think that keeping some crazed carnivore in a lockup would actually work (remember, the herbivores never caused a ruckus in the movies). So it has spikes on its head...so do Ankole Cattle, and other animals. Just like anything, it's all in how you train it.

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Since today is actually Day 5

About two years ago we purchased the DVC. This is my oh-happy-day moment after I signed all the paperwork. And the characters were even in Rochester for the event!!!!

Challenge #4, oh what a challenge

My favorite pic of my best friend?
That's just not fair. You get two.
BFF Jenn - riding the modified type teacups in AZ. BFF Adriana - just finished our 4-Park Challenge at WDW.

Catching up - #3

A perfect first date? Well, honestly the first date I had with Chip was pretty nice. But let's have a blue sky session and plus it a little bit. The first date was at Darien Lake, and we had a ball. So I guess to perfect this, the date would be a full day with limitless funding at EPCOT. It's my favorite place at WDW, and there are many romantic opportunities. Heck, where else can you ride attractions and walk around the world in one day. And let's not get started on the myriad of romantic dining options (we have experienced the Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Chefs De France, Marrakesh, Teppan Edo, Biergarten, Rose & Crown and Akershus). So yeah, a perfect date would be a nice walk with some attractions, some shopping around and a nice relaxing dinner. Maybe even a dinner on the promenade with a view for Illuminations. What the heck, this is a blue sky - private dining on one of the pontoon boats to watch Illuminations!

For yesterday

So I didn't take a picture - but I did eat. What did I eat, you ask?
Well, let me paint a picture of the dinner Chip cooked. A beautiful cheese omlette - big enough to cut in two to share. The side dish was homemade home fries, complete with onions, garlic and thyme. Yum. Perfect breakfast for dinner. Simple, yet satisfying.

Day 1

Well, today was an interesting day. Slept in and woke up to lots of snow. First snow in the new house! Called mom and had her come over to take some pics of Chip and I in front of the house for our xmas pics. Finished up some more shopping too. Dyed my hair. Went to the store to buy a new shovel because we forgot to bring the other one when we moved. Pretty productive day all around...still have some homework to accomplish - but that is best left for tomorrow. Especially since I have to work at 6:30.

In lieu of blogging

I love writing on my blog. I am thinking about creating a separate one, to further my dreams of being an author. A for real one. Is that even a concept? Anyways.
In lieu of writing consistently on my blog, I have been writing a heckuvalot (again, my own word creation...ask Chip about the term sociologizing) on my NaNoWriMo challenge. If you don't know, cliffs notes version - a monthlong challenge to write a 50,000 word novel. I am at 10,460 for the first week. Not too shabby, if I do say so. And the best part is that I love it! I love writing. I need to do it more, and I want to do other things, but for right now it's the best thing to keep my mind going positive and in a good direction. Yeah, that's about it for now I think. I'm tired and I'm going to bed early tonight (read, before 1:00 am).

Homework

Right now I should be working on homework, but I have four hours until class so I figure it can wait a few minutes. I am still riding the wave of finally putting *something* out there - a teensy-weensy flash fiction, but I crossed that first step of finishing it! Ok, so it's about 500 words - but I finished it. It may evolve into a novel at some point, but right now my focus is just writing everyday to prep for NaNo. See, that's what I'm doing now - preparing. I guess my homework could sort of help....but it's not fiction so I don't count that writing. I like to keep my writing flow going and citations and references bring it to a screaming halt. Fiction is all mine...all my own thoughts and with only one citation at the beginning - by Jenn Bush. Ok fine, I will get the homework done now so I can write on some more fun stuff after.

Whats going to happen?

Today holds promise....I feel renewed and refreshed. I am not sure what I will do first, just checking in and around the usual places, then maybe some writing. NaNo is just around the corner and I can't wait. I also feel like cleaning and decorating a little bit today. I have a while to do it all, and the week is shaping up to be a great one!

What to do

I have lots of things to accomplish....trouble is I can't decide where to start! Ideas swarm in my head like crazy but there is always something to finish or do before. (Let's not discuss how my craft space needs to be cleaned each time before I start a project). Well, instead of continuing this blog - I'm going to go start the day and randomly craft SOMETHING. Doesn't matter if it's perfect - just a start.

It began well

today started out productive....
We went to Panera for a nice breakfast, I exchanged my Cricut at AC Moore and then we drove to Cortland for the sandwich seminar on AIDS Education. Then we participated in a silent protest in conjunction with the GLSEN group at Cortland. Again, motivational. I was going to get things done today. Somewhere in the midst, I felt an anticipated feeling of sleepyness - brought on my my realization that I have to work at 6:30 am tomorrow. I did some writing on one of my stories but I hit a roadblock there - enter writing in my blog. At least it's something. On a good note, the story is now over 2000 words....still quite a bit to go before hitting novel levels - but something is definitely better than nothing.

Roadblock Removed

Ok, now that I have had some major epiphanies of what I could write, I am much more motivated. The rut is not there anymore, and it's also fall...one of my favorite times of the year (winter rocks too!). I have every intention of going to the market tonight and hopefully finding a pumpkin or some form of squash. That doesn't really have to do with my writing, but it puts me in a great frame of mind...so by default it helps. Also comitting to eating healthier, and really "kicking it into gear" (for my Disney friends, I had to say it, ok?). I have also figured that I will never, in the near future, have that all perfect day when I can plan, craft, write and cook everything I want to. For now, my mantra is accomplish what I can in the time given...and don't waste it!

Stagnate

Wow, for the past couple weeks I have really hit a roadblock. Kind of feel overwhelmed with my ideas and lack of a plan to accomplish it all. Hopefully this week I can really set down some kind of schedule that I can work with. There's always so much I want to do, but never somehow get to it. Let's see what the week brings with it.

Here we go!

Today begins the planning phase.
I am writing down everything that comes to mind when I think of this new adventure. Thanks to some friends, I have lots of inspiration - that the sky is really the limit if you work hard! I have also noticed that I come from a line of small business people (grandpa, dad....hmmmm). This is the year of planning, acid tests, and networking - so I will definitely be busy. But I will be busy with a purpose. Ok, enough blogging - I have to write down some more ideas.

Curve Ball

As I contemplate the last year of working on my master's degree, I find myself questioning what I really want to make of my life. Go figure. So what to do? Well, I'm working on my dream to write something - but what? Fiction, Disney, childrens - the genres are endless. I have a year while I work on the remainder of my education. I am also finding that I absolutely hate being told how to do things. Does this mean trying out a small business? Hmmm.....but what? Well - like I said, I have a year. And now I also have some inspiring characters in my life that have shown me that life is what you make of it, and that you definitely don't have to settle for someone else telling you what to do. Yeah, I think I'm gonna rock the year planning and exploring my ideas. Updates to follow.
